Invasion of Your Privacy

This is an issue that is gaining importance as time goes on. The Massachusetts Privacy Act provides that an individual "shall have a right against unreasonable, substantial or serious interference with his privacy." An employer cannot require the disclosure information of an intimate or personal nature. They are also forbidden to disclose any such information to others.

As an example in hiring, it is illegal to ask questions about your age, your religion, your gender and your sexual orientation.

If you feel that your privacy was invaded or you have suffered humiliation because private information was divulged, you should talk to an employment lawyer as soon as possible.
